Build! Make! Do!

 

We’re doing it again!  For the second year in a row, Eg2 is starting the year off with a hands-on art show.  All the work in the exhibition will be created AT the exhibition by students K-12 from Palm Beach County Public, Private schools.

Participating artists, invited by their art teachers, will arrive at Eg2 on Friday afternoon, ready to work on a variety of projects with materials provided by Eg2.  Each student will be given a title, and, working in groups or individually, will create work to address that title during the course of the event. 

 

Where is Eg2?

Eg2 is in CityPlace, on Rosemary Avenue in West Palm Beach.   The physical address is: 477 South Rosemary, Suite 193.  (see map below)

 

How long will the show be up?

The artwork will remain on display until September 21, 2010.

Eg2’s hours are:       Wednesday-Friday 4:00-9:00

Saturday 12:00-9:00

Sunday 12:00-6:00

Figure Drawing for ART EDUCATORS
Bring your paper, pencils, charcoal, sketchbook, whatever you’d like to use to draw the figure.  You supply the supplies, Eg2 will get a model and a monitor, and for a small donation, you can draw to your heart’s content.

When?
Tuesday, June 1st, 5:30-7:30,

Suggested donation $5.00
(or more, if you like!)

There will be NO STUDENTS allowed to participate….
Art Educators only.

In case you’re worried that you’ll have to listen to a bunch of people moaning about their principals or school district policies, we have instituted a no-whine policy (wine itself is OK though) for the figure drawing sessions, so that you can just focus on your drawing and get in the zone.  And if you’re tempted to just do a little bit of shop talk….take it outside.  That’s not what this is for.

About Us
The Educational Gallery Group: A Community of Young Artists (Eg²) has been created as a space to showcase the visual and performing art talents of all students in Palm Beach County.Our goal is to give any child in our county, attending public, private, or home school, an opportunity to display their art or perform in a public setting. For many of these students it is an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. For some, it is the catalyst that will determine a life-long commitment or career in the arts.
